Following on from the success of the 2015 tour of Mexico, the 4th annual Trails In Motion Film Festival returns to Cinépolis cinemas nationwide on Tuesday 16th and Thursday 18th August.
Once again presented by outdoor brand distribution giant ALTA Vertical, in association with La Sportiva, Petzl and Osprey, and curated by adventure sports film portal Freeman, the 2016 edition will reach 15 new cities and thousands more of Mexico's avid trail running adventure sports community, doubling its footprint in just one year to over 60 screenings.
“Trails In Motion was a great experience in 2015 for everyone involved and, for 2016 we decided to not just repeat, but to boost the project with more screenings in more areas around the country”, said Alta Vertical director Alejandro Rivera.
Rivera, no stranger to active involvement in Mexico’s outdoor community, continued by revering Alta Vertical's association with Freeman:
“Being a young, but experienced outdoor film distributor in Mexico, Freeman not only offers a one-stop-shop service when executing these types of events, but also brings a solid connection to Cinépolis as our main platform to reach so many people in such a short period of time.”
“We're extremely excited that the world tour will be returning to Mexico this year,” said Trails In Motion founder and Festival Director James Hallett. “The passion that the local outdoor community shares for trail running, coupled with Alta Vertical's vision to really drive the growth of the sport as a whole, is astounding. Knowing that the Trails In Motion Film Festival is playing a role in bringing these to elements together is something we feel extremely privileged to be a part of.
Rivera concluded that their vision for growing Trails In Motion into more than merely a film screening remains top priority for the future:
“Our goal with Trails In Motion is to create a more holistic experience for all viewers of the festival in years to come. We will be adding activities that will compliment the exhibition of the movies and give the audiences a whole new dimension of trail running around the world. With the amazing support of brands like La Sportiva, Osprey Packs and Petzl headlamps, we have a strong core team that will help us achieve all our objectives.”
